A car battery shell mould is an important component of a car battery. This type of mould has many functions, including the manufacture of the car battery shell, as well as battery covers. It is widely used in electric tricycles, electric vehicles and battery cars.
The mold is generally made of ABS or PC-abs. For ABS, the machining requirements are very high. Therefore, a mould builder uses mild steel, as this minimizes the cost of building the mold. In addition, the runner of the mould is sometimes kept hot to allow for a good fluid path.
The battery shell is composed of two parts: the cover and the post. The cover is typically made of polypropylene. Some models also include a battery vent tube. Usually, the battery cover is attached to the post. Several designs have been developed for the cover. For the post, the nut is turned down to force the cover onto the gasket. The ring of lead from the post is chamfered on top of the cover. When the lugs are cut to the right height, the part is ready for use in the battery.
Battery box moulds are the most common type of moulds used for the manufacture of car battery shells. These products are available in both texture and black finishes. However, a mold built to produce a car battery box with a textured finish will require a more complicated molding process.
Batteries with wooden separators cannot be shipped bone dry. Hence, they must be kept moist. In addition, the jars need to be tested for cracks. Often, the battery jars are made by wrapping a tough rubber compound around a metal mandrel. Once the mould is complete, the jars are vulcanized and then tested for flaws. After a final inspection, the battery is ready to ship.
Some battery makers perform a high rate discharge test to detect defects. Another method of ejection involves placing compressed air into the runner of the mould. Other methods include a cold runner or an ejector. Depending on your budget and your production volume, your mould manufacturer may offer a warranty. A warranty of a year is usually given after the mould is shipped. During the warranty period, mold maintenance is free.
